Halloween Practice
Some more drawing practice I was kinda happy with!
I just had to draw Buddy in a jack-o-lantern and some other ones I’ve seen over the years.

COMIC STRIP 13
Ages ago I had this idea of Gimli cooking and finding a massive clove of garlic, prompting his iconic line.
Turns out there is a kind of giant garlic called Elephant Garlic, too! I just had to make the pun.

Drawing Practice - Buddy as Vivi (Final Fantasy IX)
Getting reacquainted with Krita after not using it for a while. I was rather happy with this one, felt like sharing it!
I couldn’t figure out how to draw his front legs without the robe looking all floopy, so I turned it into a cloak.

COMIC STRIP 12
Learning to do some basic animation in Krita and boy was it tough at first. But not bad for a first try at it, eh?

COMIC STRIP 11
Plenty more Cat Math to come!

COMIC STRIP 10
Lily wanted me to learn how to use chopsticks and gave me these plastic beginner ones as a gift ^^. I'm happy to say that I've gotten good enough that I've since graduated to wooden chopsticks, but still have trouble with the metal kind.

COMIC STRIP 9
Based on a dumb remark I made that my wife guffawed at: "We need to throw those old potatoes away before they... walk away or something."
I'm getting much better at using drawing software now! The learning curve was a sheer cliff, but drawing live on Twitch helps a lot actually. It puts the right kind of pressure on me to improve: my Twitch channel . The stream archive is on YT btw: my YouTubes .
I’ve been drawing live while listening to Final Fantasy OSTs… when I’m not procrastinating like a pro by playing Final Fantasy VIII with a randomizer or weaponizing laziness in Dyson Sphere Program.
Ya know, proper nerdy stuff.

COMIC STRIP 8
...it turns out. Luckily he doesn't understand the concept of tall buildings, otherwise he'd never get close to the windows of our 12th floor apartment. He just thinks that the people on the street are bugs and pretends to hunt them all day long.
Since I drew this a few months ago and Buddy has finally managed to get to the top of the tower. He looked so proud of himself! It was adorable.

COMIC STRIP 7
I love Buddy, but boy does he like to show how grateful he is when we need sleep the most.

COMIC STRIP 6
Buddy is, to put it gently, a ginormous coward. He doesn't even play with a teddy if it happens to be larger than his own head, and then only if it's facing directly away from him.
Like in the comic, if I were to tap on the floorboards, once he realizes that it's not a toy, he must assume it's some horrible monster by the way he sprints away. Buddy doesn't realize it's MY hand, because my arm is slightly obscured by a blanket.
After regaining his composure, he does sometimes actually charge at the tapping fingers, usually just running by and hitting me with a fearsome cotton punch.
Oh, this was my first viral comic strip! Viral enough for me anyway, IMGUR seemed to like it (130k views). So that was exciting!

COMIC STRIP 5
Every cat owner has had this happen to them. In my mind, though, I see Buddy making the Tom Cruise meme face any time he loses our things.
I had been using drawing software for a few weeks when I finished this. I keep changing my mind on whether to use thought bubbles or not and which kinds. What do you think of the result?
I will post more comic strips soon!

COMIC STRIP 4
My cat is a weeb and I love it! Since drawing this I’ve remember more tunes I used to whistle when Buddy was little. He flops hard enough to nearly knock himself out.
This was actually one of my earlier designs for Buddy, before I decided to go with the more goofy look.

SINGLE PANEL 1
Shortly after I started to learn using drawing software (Krita, btw), I decided to try my hand at tracing one of my favourite photos of Buddy.
This was the result. I'm rather happy with it ^^
This might become part of a larger drawing I have in mind.

COMIC STRIP 3
Based on a real story I saw on the news here in South Korea. A security camera caught a crow stealing packages and flying away with them. It’s genius! It steals a package, a replacement one is sent, repeat.

COMIC STRIP 2
While on our honeymoon up and down the west coast of South Korea, we saw lots of acorns falling to the ground. As a sappy gesture, we (read, I) took one home to Suwon as a memento. We (again, I) decided to plant it to see if we could grow an oak sappling indoors. What popped out of the soil was less than thrilling.
At the point that I made this, I had been using drawing software for about a week or so.

COMIC STRIP 1
The Lion King was definitely playing in the background when I drew this one!
I got into learning to draw maybe 2 months before attempting to make my first comic strip on a whim.
10 hours after launching a drawing software for the first time (Krita), this was the result. Rough as all hell, but I liked the result!
